About JoKaX
JoKaX spent his childhood and youth in the Main region—an area closely associated with the city's reputation as a banking city. In the early 2000s, this environment shaped his view of urban life: characterized by harsh realities and a seemingly constant struggle, forming a sharp contrast to the outwardly radiant, almost entirely positive image of Munich, where his career took him almost 10 years ago.
Although Munich, at first glance, represents an almost entirely positive, dazzling attitude to life, JoKaX is aware of the hidden dark sides that lurk behind this facade. In his limited-edition street art designs, he interweaves authentic memories of his not always positive past in the Main region with the ambivalent facets of Munich. This creates a tense dialogue between glamour and darkness, inviting the viewer to discover the multifaceted reality of modern urban art in all its contrasts.
